On September 21, 2012 Aidan Knox was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. that affects approximately 1 of every 3 million children. 250 - 300 kids a year are diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in the United States.

His particular sarcoma is an aggressive cancer that requires aggressive treatment.  Aidan is currently undergoing 9 months of treatment at Children's Hospital Of Pittsburgh.  His treatment includes intensive chemotherapy on a compressed schedule and 31 radiation treatments to his tumor site. 

Aidan's tumor is located in his spine, specifically inside his s2 sacral vertebrae   He originally presented with pain in his buttock radiating down his leg in July 2012.  After a very long diagnostic Journey that included treatment for a bone infection in that vertebrae  the second bone biopsy in September revealed malignancy and Aidan was admitted on September 22, 2012 to begin treatment.

Aidan is 10 years old and an extremely smart and lovable little man. He has handled his diagnosis and treatment with the strength and grace of someone far beyond his years.  He enjoys video games, Legos, and learning the drums.  He is a good big brother to our 4 year old Dylan and loves our dog Champ.
